Essential Ceramic Bur (Flame – Coarse)

A ceramic bur designed for reducing thicker nails and areas of build-up, as part of a practical, everyday foot care set-up.

This is the coarse (green) grit, which means it has a stronger level of reduction compared to finer burs. I tend to reach for this when dealing with thicker nails that need more initial debulking.

It’s also a bur that can be useful on heavier areas of callus, such as heels, when used appropriately and with control.

When I first started, understanding bur colours and what they actually meant wasn’t always clear. So to keep it simple:

• Green = Coarse (more reduction)
• Best for thicker nails and heavier work

Ceramic burs are great because they

• Stay cooler compared to some other burs
• Are lightweight and easy to control
• Cut efficiently without feeling too aggressive when used correctly

Good for:

• Reducing thickened nails
• Initial debulking before refining
• Heavier callus areas (e.g. heels)

Shank size:

• Standard 3/32" (fits most nail drills/e-files)

Cleaning & care:

• Autoclavable
• Always follow your usual infection control protocols
